A ROLE model cop is due to appear in court today charged with four counts of rape.

Superintendent Mo Aziz also faces further charges of assault, coercive control and threatening to disclose sexual images.

ONE of Britain’s highest profile black police officers is due to appear in court tomorrow charged with four counts of rape., Bedfordshire superintendent Mo Aziz, faces further counts of two assaults, coercive control and threatening to disclose sexual images when he attends London’s Westminster magistrates’ court. The cop was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s birthday honours in 2020 for services to diversity. The allegations relate to a single victim and are alleged to have occurred between 2015 and 2022.

Aziz, 48, was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s birthday honours list in 2020 for his services to diversity.

He was chair of Bedfordshire Police’s diversity advisory group and a leading light in the National Black Police Officer’s Association.

His efforts also helped to double his force’s intake of ethnic recruits.
Bedfordshire Police confirmed he was suspended after allegations were made last July.

Aziz was due before Westminster magistrates.
