TORY ‘grope’ MP Ross Thomson’s Star Wars doormat shows he has a ‘dark’ sense of humour.
The Darth Vader rug that welcomes visitors to his Aberdeen home is emblazoned with the phrase: “Welcome to the Dark Side”.
But yesterday Thomson would have been hoping people didn’t come calling.
He has been lying low as the ‘grope’ scandal rumbled on.
One local said of the Star Wars mat: “It’s pretty funny, considering what he’s supposedly been up to.”
The Aberdeen South MP was accused of “sexual touching” at Strangers Bar in Westminster on Tuesday night.
It is claimed the 31-year-old groped two men in the busy pub.
The Met Police were called to the bar around 11pm but no arrests were made.
But witnesses claimed Thomson was “very, very drunk” and acting “handsy”.
Scotland Office minister Lord Duncan and fellow Tory MP David Duguid noticed trouble brewing and attempted to remove Thomson “before things got out of hand”.
One witness said: “Someone noticed a row developing and he was encouraged to leave.
“Moments later he returned and again approached a young man. One of their friends left and came back with police officers who took him away.”
Another witness said Thomson had been “holding on to bottoms, but in a bid not to fall on the floor”.
Tory MP Ross Thomson ‘grabbed men’s bums to stop himself falling over’
Speaking to The Times, he added: “He was handsy, yes, and holding people all over, but it was in a bid to stand upright”.
Thomson has now taken to social media to rubbish the onlookers’ claims.
But he has referred himself to the Tory’s disciplinary panel over the incident.
Posting on Twitter, the Aberdeen South MP said: “A series of serious allegations have been made against me that have featured in the media.
“I would like to state that these allegations from anonymous sources are completely false.
“No complaint has been made to the police, parliament or the Conservative Party.
“Nevertheless in the interests of openness and transparency I am referring myself to the Conservative Party’s Disciplinary Panel of the Code of Conduct.
“This has been a deeply distressing time for me and my family but I intend to be back at work on Monday.”

It comes after caretaker Scottish Tory leader Jackson Carlaw slated his MP’s “completely unacceptable” behaviour.
Ruth Davidson’s stand-in said: “I know enough to say that the alleged behaviour is completely unacceptable.”
And pressed on whether Mr Thomson should “consider his position”, Mr Carlaw responded: “Inquiries are ongoing but I can say, and I’m quite happy to say, his behaviour is completely unacceptable.”
